This year's BugFest event at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will celebrate myriapods, which includes millipedes and centipedes.
The annual celebration of bugs is happening all day on Saturday at the museum, but the fun kicks off on Friday with an Iron Chef-style cooking competition featuring insects.

The competition is from noon to 1 p.m. at the Museum of Natural Sciences on Jones Street. Local chefs Carlos Pacheco from Mr. Puebla Tacos and Alaksha Surti from Curry in a Hurry will be preparing three dishes featuring bugs ranging from crickets to superworms. There will be an appetizer, entree and dessert.
The winner will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges include WRAL anchor and reporter Chris Lovingood.

On Saturday, there will be exhibits, cockroach races and more buggy fun for the entire family. Admission to BugFest is free.
