A North Carolina man has been charged in connection to the murders of a soldier and a veteran at Fort Liberty.
The body of Master Sergent William LaVigne was discovered near a training area on Dec. 2, 2020, along with the body of a veteran named Timothy Dumas.

Kenneth Maurice Quick Jr., of Laurinburg, is facing charges related to murder, drugs, firearms and obstruction.
A federal grand jury indicted him on Aug. 1, and that indictment was unsealed at his initial court appearance Friday in Greenville.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Quick allegedly committed first-degree murder by shooting a victim on Fort Liberty on Dec. 1, 2020.
It is alleged that he used a firearm to murder a second victim that same day. The murder of the second victim was allegedly connected to a separate charge for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Quick is being charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly attempting to dispose of the body of one of the victims.
Quick is also alleged to have been a felon at the time of these offenses and knowingly possessed ammunition.
He is currently serving more than four years in federal prison for an unrelated conviction.
