Several schools are dismissing students early Wednesday because of air conditioning issues.

Knightdale High School dismisses students early

Knightdale High School dismissed at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at 100 Bryan Chalk Lane in Knightdale.

Students will be provided lunch, the school’s principal said.

School buses will provide transportation home for students who ride by bus, and parents can pick up their students for rides out as usual.

Staff will remain on campus with students until they are picked up.

The school’s after-school activities are canceled.

Apex Friendship High School dismisses students early, will release early again Thursday

On Thursday, Apex Friendship High School will release students early again at 11:15 a.m. as air conditioner troubles stretch into a second day.

Apex Friendship High School dismissed students at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. The school's HVAC system is not working at full capacity, the school's principal said.
