Two separate shootings are under investigation in Nash County this weekend. One of them was deadly.
Nashville police officers responded to a shooting on South Alston Avenue at the intersection of Church Street on Saturday night by the Harold D. Cooley Library.

They found a victim who had been shot in the leg. While at the scene, they received another call for a shooting – this time from the 200 block of 6th Street in Nashville.
The caller had dialed 911, saying her nephew had been shot at a home there.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker arrived to the scene on 6th Street to find a large police presence and a crowd of people, many looking distraught and hugging one another.
At that scene, Nashville police saw a car with a bullet hole in it driving away, and they pursued it. Officers said one unit gave chase and detained the person, while the other unit provided first aid to the victim.
Officers did not identify the victims or the person who was detained.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, but the public is not in any danger.
