Deputies want people in Lenoir County to stay inside their homes as they look for a man with an extended criminal history accused of shooting two people.

Authorities said Ryan Everett of La Grange committed a robbery in Greene County Thursday night. Everett is accused of stealing two guns and then shooting two people.

Both shooting victims are in the hospital and their conditions are unknown. Authorities do not know of Everett's motive for the shooting.

Deputies were searching for Everett in the area on US-258 and Wheat Swamp Road near Kinston.

Security checks were performed by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office at Banks Middle School Friday morning.

Police said Everett has been charged for his involvement in numerous crimes in recent months.

  • June 26: Everett was charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
    • Aug. 6: Everett broke into a house in La Grange, shot at the owner and ran from deputies.
      • Sept. 18: Everett was involved in a robbery of a business on 258 North in Kinston, stole a vehicle and fled the scene.

        "Everett is obviously a flight risk and extremely dangerous to our community," said Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers.
