An overturned tractor-trailer on Monday caused heavy delays on Interstate 40 near Fayetteville Road in Durham.
At 8:01 a.m., Durham Police officers responded to a crash in the eastbound lanes on I-40 near the Fayetteville Road exit. Officers said a pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer, causing it to overturn in an embankment.

Sky 5 was live at the scene as emergency crews worked to clear the crash. Crews were working to pull the tractor-trailer out of the embankment.
Both drivers were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The three right lanes of I-40 East remained closed due to the crash for several hours, reopening by 1:30 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
