Professional experience
I worked at an MMJ/fill-in anchor for WVIR 29News in Charlottesville, Virginia, mostly covering breaking news, state legislature/electoral politics, courts and education. Prior to that, I interned for News 2 in Nashville, working under their State Capitol reporter.
Awards & Recognition
I was awarded Best MMJ at Virginia's AP Awards this year! I also recieved runner-up positions in the best spot news and continuing coverage categories.
News Philosophy
Everyone deserves to know and understand what is going on in their community. One of my favorite parts of my job is simplifying complex issues and engaging viewers/readers in an issue they may have otherwise never known was happening. It's one of the most common ways our stories make an impact!

Family
I am a proud big sister to two high school girls. They are my biggest motivators, and I hope to show them that no dream or goal is too farfetched! They live with my parents outside of Nashville.
Hobbies/Interests
When I'm not working, I am probably finding some other way to spike my adrenaline. I love anything outside, but on the weekdays, you can find me reading, going to Pilates, and most recently, poorly painting watercolors.
Likes best about North Carolina
I was born in the Smoky Mountains of Western Carolina, and it is among my favorite places on Earth! Nothing beats the greenery of North Carolina, or the kindness of the people here.
Most memorable assignment
I reported live from inside the U.S. Capitol after sitting down with two Virginia Congressmen right after the War in Iran began. Covering the day of UVA football's historic win over FSU in Charlottesville is also a favorite memory on the job.
