The Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolinas is reminding parents to be careful with back-to-school photos. That means not sharing any identifying information, including:

- Their teacher
- Certain personal fun facts
Scammers could use that information to build a profile of information and use it to target your family. 5 On Your Side recommends, before posting, consider what you'd be comfortable sharing with a stranger. Would you really want them to know your child's age or the school they attend?
Check your social media account's privacy settings and know that, even if your page is private, photos can be easily saved and copied.
Also, know that scammers are looking to take advantage of parents shopping for those last-minute supplies. Ads are circulating on social media, boasting fake school supply deals.
