More than 121,000 Galanz Retro refrigerators are being recalled after a deadly electrical fire. The fridge was sold through Amazon and Home Depot for between $330 and $520.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said electrical components can short-circuit, creating a fire hazard.
The recall notice follows one reported death and 34 other additional fire reports.
Only refrigerators with date codes ranging from December 2018 through December 2020 and with one of the following model numbers are included in this recall:
- BCD-215V-62H
- GLR76TRDER
- GLR76TBKER
- GLR76TBEER
- GLR76TWEER.
“Galanz,” the model number and the date code, in YYYYMM format, are printed on a white label on the upper left-hand corner on the back of the unit. Customers should stop using the refrigerators immediately and contact the company for a free in-home repair.
Attic stair ladders recalled
More than one million attic stair ladders are being recalled over fall risks.
The bolts on certain Louisville, Featherlite, Lite & Century Attic Stairway Ladders with gas struts can break, which can cause people to fall off, resulting in injuries or even death.
There have been 11 reports of the ladders breaking and one report of an injury to the neck, head and back.
The ladders were sold at Home Depot, Lowe's and Amazon from November 2012 through July 2026 for between $170 and $600.
Eye drops recalled
The FDA announced a voluntary recall of nearly 40,000 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief eye drops due to potential contamination.
The affected 15-milliliter bottles have an expiration date of September 30, 2027, and were distributed nationwide.
Consumers are being urged not to use the drops and to return the bottles if possible.
