Sam Jones BBQ will open its second Raleigh location inside Morgan Street Food Hall by 2027.
The restaurant announced its plans Wednesday to open inside Morgan Street Food Hall by the end of the year. The new location is less than a mile from the original Raleigh location on West Lenoir Street.

Sam Jones, from Ayden, opened the first Sam Jones BBQ location in Greenville in 2015. The first Raleigh location opened in 2021.
Jones said he was approached by Niall Hanley, the entrepreneur behind Morgan Street Food Hall.
"Niall and I have known each other for years. He approached me about opening a spot at the food hall and was very flexible and easy to work with,” Jones said. "The Morgan Street Food Hall is a walkable destination in downtown Raleigh. Our Raleigh location is a short distance away but may not be as convenient if you want to walk."
The food hall location will offer a more limited drink and food menu.
