The public, including Wake County families and parents, is invited to Wakefield Middle School on Wednesday to share their thoughts on the district's budget after proposed cuts.
The budget input session is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Wakefield Middle School in Raleigh, located at 2300 Wakefield Pines Drive. People can sign up to speak online.

The session is the district’s second opportunity for parents to offer feedback after Superintendent Robert Taylor recently proposed $5.2 million in budget cuts. The cuts include areas like transportation and elementary literacy coaches.
Taylor plans to propose more cuts later this month.
Next year’s budget would still be an increase overall, but it’s designed only to make up for increased costs such as pay raises. If state-funded employees get a salary increase, Wake County and other local districts would have to match it. This change could increase costs by tens of millions of dollars each year for the school system.
A third session is scheduled for April 21 at the school district’s headquarters.
