Apex High School was placed on hold Thursday after someone threatened the school.

The WRAL newsroom received reports of a law enforcement presence at the school around 11 a.m.

A Wake County Public School System representative said someone called Apex High School and made a threat.

An Apex police spokesperson said the school was placed on hold, meaning students were told to remain inside classrooms and keep the hallways clear.

After an investigation, authorities determined the threat was not credible. The hold was lifted around noon.

Sky 5 flew over the school around 11:40 a.m. Several police cars were parked in front of the building.
