Boy shot multiple times in Franklin County, deputies say

Franklin County sheriff's deputies said a boy was shot multiple times on Friday.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on South Chavis Street near Franklinton, deputies said. 

Officials have not released the name of the boy or any information on his current condition.  The investigation is still ongoing. 

WRAL news is working to learn what led up to the shooting and if anyone is in custody.
