Chapel Hill police respond to a series of car break-ins

Chapel Hill police are asking the community for help after a series of car break-ins early Saturday morning.

Police said roughly 60 cars were broken into along major roads like Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Raleigh Road around 3 a.m. 

"The suspects moved quickly between 3 and 4:30 a.m., and any bit of information helps us," said police chief Celisa Lehew. "We're asking community members to check their home and business camera recordings for any signs of people breaking into cars."

Police are working with an investigative team to look closely at similarities among these break-ins and those in the broader Triangle area.
