The Moore County man charged with killing three members of his family appeared in court for the first time Friday morning.
Investigators say Demetrius Aggelis killed his mother, stepfather and niece.

Aggelis is charged with:
• Three counts of first-degree murder
• One count of first-degree burglary
• One count of failing to notify authorities of changes to an online identifier as required of a registered sex offender
The last charge was served on Aggelis in court Friday. The offense date listed on the arrest warrant is the same day as the killings.
The warrant alleges Aggelis failed to notify authorities about a new profile on the messaging platform Telegram. Registered sex offenders are required to report certain changes to online identifiers.
Aggelis is on the sex offender registry because of a 2009 conviction at Fort Belvoir, an Army installation in Virginia.
Investigators said Aggelis made the initial 911 call, telling dispatchers he had stumbled upon the crime scene after going to pick up his stepfather for an early-morning flight.
Investigators later said nearby Flock Safety cameras placed Aggelis' vehicle at the scene around the time of the killings. He was arrested later that day.
Aggelis is being held without bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 26.
