The Chatham County Sheriff's Office recovered a body after searching Jordan Lake for someone who was believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Deputies said they began searching the area Wednesday night near the U.S. Highway 64 bridge after receiving information about the person's last known location.

Deputies found an unoccupied vehicle near the bridge.
At around 1 p.m., officials recovered a body from the lake. They suspect no foul play. They did not release details about the person's identity.
The sheriff’s office is conducting the search with assistance from Chatham County Emergency Management, Lee County Emergency Management, the North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and North Carolina State Parks.
