A man died in a single-car crash Tuesday night in Johnston County.
Troopers said Joseph Larry Norris was driving west on Benson Hardee Road when his Chevrolet Equinox crossed the centerline.

The SUV ran off the road, struck a ditch and fence posts, ruptured a gas line and caught fire.
The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. Investigators believe a medical emergency may have caused Norris to cross the centerline.
Norris was 83.
Benson Hardee Road was closed for more than two hours while troopers investigated.
