Another pet food recall is raising concerns for dog owners, including customers in North Carolina who may have purchased the product online. Oma’s Pride is recalling 639 six-pound bags of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe after testing found salmonella. That amounts to 3,834 pounds of frozen raw dog food. The company says three dogs have become sick. No human illnesses have been reported. The food was distributed to stores and wholesalers in 11 states, including neighboring Virginia. While North Carolina was not included on that retail distribution list, the product was also shipped directly to customers through online orders.

The recall applies only to six-pound bags of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe with the following information:

- UPC: 8 7938400145 9
- Manufacturing date: Jan. 27, 2026
- Best-by date: Jan. 27, 2029
No other Oma’s Pride products, sizes or lots are included.Customers should immediately stop feeding the recalled food to their pets. The FDA recommends securely throwing it away so children, pets and wildlife cannot reach it. Pet bowls, storage containers, utensils and surfaces that touched the food should be washed and sanitized.

Symptoms of salmonella in dogs
Dogs infected with salmonella may experience:
- Lethargy

- Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
Some infected dogs may show no symptoms but can still spread the bacteria to people and other animals.
