Durham police are investigating a Saturday shooting that left a 15-year-old boy dead.
At 2:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a gunshot wound at the Magnolia Pointe Apartments in the 4800 block of Danube Lane.

When officers arrived, they found a boy who had been shot. EMS took the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
WRAL News was on the scene as police placed 20 evidence markers on the ground.
A witness said she believes the boy was playing in the snow at the time of the shooting.
"A kid should be able to play in the snow," Mayor Leonardo Williams told WRAL News. "I've gone from sad to just mad as hell. I’m really frustrated."
Many people who live in the area took to social media, expressing their shock.
"It’s sad that children cannot be children in this town," one person wrote. "Praying for this child’s family and anyone who had to witness this trauma."
"Lord please pray for his mama and sister," another person said.
"I share these concerns," Mayor Williams said. "I share the fact that public safety is, for the most part, being ignored. And I share the frustration that our public safety apparatus, our inner systems, are not working well together.
"I want to invest in more of a proactive public safety approach, and the way you do that is investing in our children."
