Around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, a neighbor reported a fire on the 300 block of Spring Street in Durham.
Durham firefighters located the small fire inside a closet and extinguished it quickly.

No one was inside the home.
The damage to the home is moderate and is mostly contained to the closet and surrounding areas, according to the fire chief.
Approximately 38 Durham firefighters responded to this call. When the Battalion Chief initially arrived on scene he requested additional units due to the heavy presence of smoke.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
