Durham Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early Sunday morning around 2:05 a.m.
Juan Jose Acevedo Archila, 18 vehicle had become disabled due to a crash he was involved in that previously occurred. Archila was struck by Stephen Moore, 37 of Manson in the fatal accident. Moore told officers he attempted to stop his vehicle but continued sliding due to rain at the time of the crash.

Archila was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Moore was charged with:
- Driving while impaired
- Driving with license revoked
- Failure to reduce speed
- Misdemeanor death by vehicle
- Exceeding safe speed
- No liability insurance.
