Wake County man accused of selling fentanyl that led to woman’s overdose

A Wake County man is accused of selling fentanyl to a woman who died of an overdose.

Jimmie McKinnie is charged with death by distribution and conspiring to sell or deliver a schedule 2 controlled substance.

Documents show that in 2025, he sold fentanyl to a Wendell woman who later died from an overdose.

McKinnie was arrested on Tuesday. He's in jail without bond.
