Winston-Salem prisoner captured hours after escape, will be moved to Central Prison in Raleigh

An escaped prisoner from Forsyth Correctional Center in Winston-Salem was captured after getting away from the facility on Friday morning.

Raymond Warren, 35, was serving a five-year sentence for larceny and was not due to be released until 2028. 

Warren was found by Winston-Salem police and North Carolina Department of Adult Correction officers just after 3 p.m.

The state said Warren will be taken to Central Prison in Raleigh and faces a felony escape charge.
