A man was injured when a freight train and a car collided Friday morning in downtown Durham.

The crash was reported around 6:45 a.m. on North Elizabeth Street near East Main Street.

WRAL News crews at the scene saw a white sedan pushed up against a freight train. The car did not appear to be badly damaged, and the driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police and EMS were at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

East Main Street was closed between North Elizabeth Street and Angier Avenue.
