Halifax County man arrested for attempted murder after domestic incident in Enfield

Dondre Coleman, 28, faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, after he was accused of assaulting and trying to shoot a woman during a domestic incident. He is being held without bond and will appear in court on December 19.

A Halifax County man is facing several charges after he was accused of attempted murder.

On Tuesday, Halifax County Sheriff's deputies arrested 28-year-old Dondre Coleman.

Deputies were called around 2:30 p.m. to White Oak Road in Enfield for reports of a domestic call with shots fired.

When they arrived, deputies said a woman told them Coleman had assaulted her, then tried to shoot her when she tried to leave the home. When Coleman arrived back home, deputies arrested him.

Coleman is now charged with attempted murder, assault on a female, shooting into an occupied vehicle, damage to personal property and assault with a deadly weapon.

He is being held without bond and is expected in court on Friday, December 19 at 9 a.m.
