A social worker is out on bond on a charge she had sex with an inmate at the Harnett County jail.

Lillington police arrested Pamela Snow, 63, of Fuquay-Varina, at Harnett Correctional Institution on Tuesday.

Snow is accused of engaging in a sexual act an inmate serving a life sentence for murder.

Snow was a licensed clinical social worker who has worked on a contract since Feb. 15, 2024, at the Harnett Correctional Institution, according to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. The department said her contract relationship has been terminated. 

The department added that since Snow worked under a contract with a medical staffing company, it does not have access to her salary, and said there were no prior disciplinary actions.
