The Harnett County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) has released more information about the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting that led to a man's death.
One man was shot and killed by a Harnett County deputy on Wednesday afternoon after dispatchers got a call about a domestic disturbance. The office said a man was threatening someone who eventually called 911.

Harnett County deputy Calvin Johnson arrived at a home on Neills Creek Road in Lillington in reference to a man with a knife threating someone, according to a release.
Deputies said Johnson tried several times to deescalate the situation. After multiple attempts, Johnson fired his weapon at the man in an attempt to stop him from going toward him with the weapon.
Thursday, authorities identified the man as Leo Reeves. Reeves died at WakeMed from his injuries. He was 31 years old and had two children.
A look into Reeves' past showed he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in January. He was released from jail just days before the shooting.
Johnson has been with the HCSO since June 2024 and has more than 11 years of law enforcement experience.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
