Raleigh police on Tuesday captured two people in a wooded area off of Rocky Quarry Road and Interstate 40 in Raleigh after linking them to a carjacking that took place in Durham.
About 11:20 a.m., Durham police were called to the 4000 block of Meriwether Drive on a report of a carjacking. The victim reported that their vehicle, a Kia Optima, had been stolen at gunpoint.

Around noon, dispatchers told law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for a 2011 black Kia Optima "possibly involved in a carjacking out of Durham County," according to radio traffic from Broadcastify.
The radio traffic said they were looking for teenagers wearing all black and black masks.
Raleigh police spotted a Kia just before noon and pursued it vehicle to a ramp at the interchange of Interstates 440 and 40 where two people jumped from the vehicle and ran into the woods.
Officers chased them and took them into custody. Police did not release the names or any charges against those two people.
