A Holly Springs middle school student was hit by a car on Friday, school officials said.
According to police, the 12-year-old boy was riding his bike in front of Holly Ridge Middle School when he was hit by a car.

Police said the boy had minor cuts and bruises but is expected to be OK.
In a message sent to parents, Holly Ridge Middle School Principal Jennifer Newby encourages parents to follow procedures and use extra precautions when driving near or on campus.
Officials have not released the name of the student or the person who hit them.
