Power restored to hundreds of customers in Garner

A power outage that impacted roughly 650 customers in Garner on Monday morning has been mostly restored.

At 6:30 a.m., Duke Energy's outage map showed hundreds of customers without power near West Garner Road and Benson Road, just south of Raleigh.

The areas of Sunset Acres, Woodridge apartments and Carmel Crossing appeared to be impacted.

At 8 a.m., Duke Energy's outage map showed power was restored to most of those customers, with only a few dozen still without power. 

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker spoke to Duke Energy crews working in that area. The crews said, while the cause of the outage is unconfirmed, crews were trimming branches near power lines outside First National Bank on Vandora Springs Road.
