Championship merchandise flew off the shelves Monday morning as Carolina Hurricanes fans looked to take home a piece of history.
Two women inside the Carolina Pro Shop told WRAL News they were excited to see pucks and special edition pins still available.

Ainsley Roberts got to the store around 11 a.m. Monday with her family and shared she was surprised how fast some of the merchandise sold out.

“There is nothing here!” she said. “We’ll probably go hit up Dick’s Sporting Goods after this to see what there is. My little ones all need some gear!”
Troy Smith said he drove straight to Lenovo Center after landing Monday morning after celebrating the Canes' win in Vegas.
“I took my youngest daughter with me, and we celebrated until we had to leave the arena to get on our plane to fly back,” Smith said. “I came straight here to try and get a T-shirt.”

A championship-level proposal
For some, the gear is about remembering a historic season. For others, this championship run is already tied to memories they’ll carry forever.
TJ Medlock and Brianna Rutland drove 5.5 hours from South Carolina to make it to Lenovo Center for the watch party Sunday night.
“I am just a huge Canes fan,” Medlock said. “I was here in 2014 and saw them win in overtime.”
Medlock said as excited as he was for the watch party, there was a burning question on his mind. During the first intermission, Medlock got down on one knee.
“I was kind of thinking I would do it when they won,” Medlock said. “But I just had to get it out.”
Rutland said her answer came faster than the question.
“He didn’t have a chance to say anything. As soon as I saw him on one knee, I just said, ‘Yes!’ Rutland added.
Medlock said the night was better than he could’ve imagined saying, “The Canes won the Stanley Cup and we got engaged the same night. I couldn’t have planned it any better!”
The soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Medlock weren’t the only couple who traveled from out of state to celebrate wedding bells.
Christy Dickman and Griff Brewer drove down from Pennsylvania just a week after Griff popped the question.
“I am from Carolina and I have been a Canes fan my whole life,” Dickman said. “We had to be here for the big win.”
The couple described themselves as “Huge Caniacs,” with Brewer joking that Canes gear may be a factor in their wedding budget.
“We’re going to rent out a box!” he said. “All of the budget, we’re just going to elope so we can spend it on Canes tickets.”
Both couples said red and black will be a part of their wedding day celebrations.
As for Stormy, both couples said his invitation is already in the mail.
