The Johnston County Little League 12U Softball team continued a winning tradition for the state on Sunday, defeating Kentucky 2-0 in the championship game of the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville.
It was the team's second straight shutout, having blanked Lake Mary, Florida, 4-0 on Saturday to reach the title game.

Many of the team members are classmates and live in the Archer Lodge community. The Johnston County Little League program partners with the Archer Lodge Parks and Recreation and operates primarily in that area.
After the team's series winning score, coach Ben Catarozzoli, is seen bringing a player back to the field who was injured in the first inning.
It was his daughter, Sophie. She sprained her ankle and was sitting on the sideline. He carries her onto the field where she celebrates the win with her teammates.
That moment has gone viral, and the father and daughter were interviewed by the Today Show on Tuesday.
Ben Catarozzoli told them, "It's just dad instincts, I guess. I would have done it for any of the girls on the team."
