Jordan High School in Durham was placed on secure status Tuesday after a report of a student with a possible weapon on campus, a Durham Public Schools spokesperson said.
The student was no longer believed to be on campus, officials said at 12:15 p.m.

Secure status was lifted just after 12:30 p.m.
Secure status, which is similar to a lockdown, means the school's exterior doors are locked, and students remain inside.
In February, Millbrook High School in Raleigh was placed under a code red lockdown on after a student was found to be possessing a loaded gun on campus. Malcolm McIntyre, a senior at the school, was arrested and charged.
