Main Street in Louisburg was blocked for about an hour Wednesday after a report of a gas leak.
Police told WRAL News that the leak was reported near the Franklin County courthouse around 10:30 a.m.

Within about 30 minutes, the emergency vehicles were leaving the scene, and Embridge Energy had capped the leak by 11:30.
Traffic flow returned to normal by noon, but the odor of gas could linger in the air, police said.
The utility did not say whether anyone suffered any ill effects.
