An inmate at the Harnett Correctional Institution died Friday evening after being assaulted by another inmate.
Christian Bridges, a 29-year-old male died after an attack in the male dormitory shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.

The prison's medical staff responded and called 911. Bridges died on the way to the hospital around midnight.
Isaiah McKoy, 24, is facing first-degree murder charges. McKoy was serving a 17-year sentence for murder in the second degree, and is a habitual felon. He was charged with killing his great-grandfather in 2021.
He has been in the Harnett Correctional Institution since September 2024.
