An Aberdeen man is accused of threatening an 8-year-old child and a group of women.

Police arrested Thomas Ringer in connection with their investigation.

It happened Tuesday just before midnight at a home in the Glenn Laurel neighborhood. Police responded to calls about a domestic disturbance and violent threats.

When officers got there, they said Ringer sent life-threatening messages to the women. Police also said Ringer took a photo of him holding a weapon and pointing it towards the child. He is also accused of sending threatening messages to the child and other family members.

Police obtained warrants for Ringer for felony malicious assault in secret, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age, misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor communicating threats.

Ringer left Aberdeen and was arrested in Richmond County. Deputies dropped him off in Moore County, where Aberdeen investigators took him into custody.

He is being held under no bond.
