Millbrook High School senior pleads guilty to bringing loaded gun to campus in February

A former Millbrook High School student arrested for bringing a loaded gun on campus pleaded guilty on Monday.

In February, Millbrook High School in Raleigh was placed under a Code Red lockdown after school officials were alerted through the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System that a student saw another student with a gun.  

WRAL's cameras captured Raleigh officers escorting 18-year-old Malcolm McIntyre, a senior, in handcuffs to a police vehicle outside the school around 12:05 p.m.

McIntyre was arrested and charged with felony carrying a gun on educational property. He was also charged with three misdemeanors: carrying a concealed gun, resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct. He later posted a $100,000 bond.

Court records show that McIntyre pleaded guilty to the felony charge on Monday in exchange for the dismissal of the three other charges he was facing. He faces a maximum of 24 months in prison. 

No students were injured in the February incident. Under state law, any student who brings a firearm on campus faces a 365-day suspension. Criminal charges are also possible.
