NC man accused of going 104 mph in 65-mph zone along I-40 in Wake County

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man Tuesday accused of speeding at 104 mph in a 65-mph zone on Interstate 40 in Wake County.

Michael Craig Strickland Jr., 36, of Castle Hayne, is charged with:

• Felony fleeing to elude arrest

• Failure to heed to a light or siren

• Reckless driving

• Speeding 104 mph in 65-mph zone

SHP said Strickland didn’t stop for lights and siren around 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, driving into Durham County. Eventually, Strickland pulled off onto the right shoulder of Page Road and surrendered.

The state said no one was injured.
