A Cumberland County deputy shot a woman Tuesday night when she lunged toward them with a knife, the sheriff's office said.
The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the shooting, standard procedure when a law enforcement officer fires a weapon.

Deputies were called to a home on Camden Road around 6:35 p.m. to investigate a report of domestic violence
When they arrived, they found a woman with a knife. Deputies asked her to drop her weapon, but she lunged toward them, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies provided first aid until EMS arrived to the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital, but the severity of her injuries is unknown.
The sheriff's office said there is no threat to the public and their investigation is ongoing.
