A woman driving in Moore County died in a head-on crash, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The SHP said the woman died at the scene of the crash, which happened just before 8 a.m. Friday along North Carolina Highway 705 near Huey Road.

According to the SHP, the woman was driving a blue Ford car traveling east on the road collided with a black Ford pickup truck traveling west. Her name was not released.
After the crash, the passenger car ran off the road to the right and came to rest on the eastbound shoulder facing east.
The pickup truck ran off the road to the right, struck a no parking sign and a culvert, then came to rest facing south on the westbound shoulder.
The SHP did not say anything about the person who was driving the Ford pickup truck.
