One person is in custody after an overnight shooting left one person dead and another injured in Johnston County.
Deputies said they were called to reports of a shooting at a home early Saturday morning on Valley Field Drive in Clayton near the Flowers community.

When they arrived, deputies found two people had been shot. One was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other was taken to the hospital. Their condition is still unknown.
Deputies have not released the names of anyone involved.
Deputies said they are investigating the incident as a homicide, and there is no threat to the community.
