The Durham County Sheriff's office is investigating a deadly train accident near Redwood Road and Tom Clark Road in northern Durham County.
A person was hit and killed by a train around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office said the person struck by the Norfolk Southern train was a 48-year-old woman. Investigators believe she stepped into the path of the train.
