A Raleigh man has been charged with hit-and-run and felony death by motor vehicle after a pedestrian was killed in a crash early Saturday morning. 

25-year-old Anas’jah Sharnae Leak, was walking with another person along Capital Boulevard. The crash happened at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Durant Road at 3:33 a.m.

Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, however, the pedestrian died on scene. 

Police said Tyrone Jamaal Jackson, 35, was driving in the right lane when he hit Leak and kept driving.

Wake Forest police later stopped Jackson's car in a traffic stop based on damage to the vehicle and expired registration. 

Jackson was charged with felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He was being held on a $25,000 bond but has since been released after posting bond.
