One person was hit and killed by an Amtrak train Friday night in Raleigh.
Raleigh police responded around 8:45 p.m. to Beryl Road and Powell Drive after receiving a report about a person being hit by a train.

Police said according to their preliminary investigation the woman was trying to walk across the train tracks when she was hit.
According to Amtrak, the train was traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh when the accident happened.
Amtrak said there were 69 people on board, and no one was injured.
Video from the WRAL Breaking News Tracker showed crime scene tape up and the road closed while police investigated.
The roads are expected to be closed for several hours, police said.
