Utility crews are working to restore power to hundreds of people in Nash County after powerlines went down Wednesday night.
According to Nashville police, power lines went down around the area around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the lines created a hazard for people on the roads and advised people to use caution.

"Please avoid the affected area if possible, never approach or touch a downed power line, and give emergency and utility crews plenty of room to work. We appreciate Duke Energy’s quick response and continued work to get our community back up and running safely," the Town of Nashville Police Department said.
Duke Energy said trees fell on lines Wednesday, knocking out power for more than 2,000 customers. As of Thursday morning at 3:30 a.m., that was down to about 900 customers.
Crews expected power to be restored to most by 6 a.m. Thursday, with some outages planned for restoration by 8 a.m.
