Raleigh man sentenced to years in prison for statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor

A Raleigh man is due to serve multiple years in prison after pleading guilty to statutory rape and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Aaron Searls, 20, is due to serve at least seven years and four months in prison. He could serve up to 10 years and 10 months behind bars.

Court documents show Searls would serve 60 months of probation after his release, and he must register as a sex offender and enroll in satellite-based monitoring. He must also get treatment as ordered by the court.

Searls also is not allowed to communicate with or be near the victim of the offense. He also must submit to warrantless searches by a probation officer.

Documents show two of Searls’ rape charges stem from May 1, 2024. Another rape charge is from Jan. 1, 2024. The sexual exploitation of a minor charge stems from Oct. 16, 2024, documents show.
