Lockdown lifted at Riverside High School after second anonymous threat in weeks

A high school was placed on lockdown on Wednesday in Durham.

According to Durham Public Schools, Riverside High School received a tip from a third party about a threat against the school and went on lockdown. 

The Durham County Sheriff's Office later confirmed that the tip was about a possible weapon on campus

The school went on lockdown around the time parents would be picking up their children from school.

Authorities searched every classroom and lifted the lockdown around 4:43 p.m.

This is the second lockdown in the last few weeks at the high school. On Nov. 19, the school went into a lockdown after there were reports of a gun on campus. The lockdown was lifted after there was no gun found.
