The Wake County Sheriff's Office said deputies have arrested Eric Lamont Martin Jr., who was wanted on murder charges in two counties.

Wake County deputies arrested Eric Lamont Martin Jr., 18, at a home on Anthony Drive near Raleigh early Saturday morning. Martin was wanted on murder charges in two counties, and officials previously warned he was considered armed and dangerous.

According to Roanoke Rapids police, Martin was a suspect in the June 22 deaths of Patrick Faircloth, 19, and Maraiah Thompson, 15, both of Whiteville. He is also wanted for a June 11 murder in Columbus County.

“We thank the community for being vigilant to help bring a measure of peace to the victims’ loved ones,” Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe said following the arrest. “This arrest involved coordination between WCSO’s Special Response Team, Patrol deputies, the K-9 Unit, drones, the Criminal Investigation Division, the NC Department of Adult Correction, and the U.S. Marshals Service.”
