Cars, building hit after shots fired at Garner apartment complex, police say

Garner police are investigating after shots were fired at an apartment complex Tuesday night.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Evolve Drive at the Timber Creek Apartments, police said.

According to the Garner Police Department, three cars and a nearby building were hit by gunfire.

People were inside the building at the time, but no one was injured, police said.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was on scene while police processed the scene and spotted crime scene tape and evidence markers surrounding the front of the clubhouse and pool areas.

Police said they had detained multiple "persons of interest" at the scene and their investigation is ongoing.
