Two people were arrested after Hoke County deputies served a search warrant at a home as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs, according to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office.
The Narcotics/Vice Suppression Unit served the warrant Friday in the 100 block of Alex Baker Road with help from the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team.

Investigators were looking for Pierre Dixon, who deputies said was the subject of an investigation into the sale of controlled substances. Dixon was not at the home when the warrant was served.
Deputies found Jeffrey Huey Sr. and Annette Lawson, along with five other adults and three juveniles inside the residence. The adults were detained without incident, while the juveniles were released to family members at the scene.
During the search, detectives said they found suspected crack cocaine, THC vapes, items used to manufacture or process crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.
Huey and Lawson were arrested and each charged with felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for the sale or delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were given $3,000 secured bonds after appearing before a magistrate.
The other adults detained during the search were either issued citations and released, according to the sheriff’s office.
Dixon has outstanding warrants charging him with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for the sale or delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation remains ongoing.
